Sweet Orange Essential Oil: Bring the Bright and Cheerful Sun Inside
With its clean and fresh scent, Sweet orange essential oil is warm and uplifting. This bright and cheerful aroma is a favorite in diffusers and personal care products, enhancing everyday experiences with its invigorating presence.
Sweet orange oil is composed of at least 90 percent d-limonene, a compound that imbues citrus fruits with their familiar aroma. D-limonene’s versatility extends beyond its sensory appeal, finding use in perfumes and household cleaners due to its refreshing scent. This component is not just about aroma; it's a testament to the multifaceted nature of sweet orange oil.
The effectiveness of sweet orange oil as a pest control agent is remarkable and practical in everyday life. It is an environmentally friendly and relatively safe option in pest control, particularly in combating ants. By disrupting their scent-pheromone trail, it ensures they don't return.
Extracted through cold-pressing from citrus × sinensis (the same oranges we find in grocery stores), this oil benefits from sustainable practices. The orange peels, a byproduct of orange juice production, are repurposed, highlighting an eco-friendly approach. This extraction method is crucial in maintaining the oil's fragrance and therapeutic properties, producing an oil that is greenish-orange in color and of a thin consistency.
Orange essential oil is called sweet orange oil to distinguish it from bitter orange essential oil, which has a different scent and chemical properties.
